STATE BOOTHS: Unique advertising opportunity for EVERYONE….There will be 9 state booths representing MO and the 8 surrounding states. Each Alpaca owner and fiber resources are eligible to place a pin (with a number) on their state map. That number will correspond with a 9” x 12” space on tables in that booth where you can place your business cards, brochures, coupons, sales list… you name it- only rule is that it must lay flat on the table. You are responsible for bringing and putting the items on the table and taking them home at the end of the weekend. This way only the folks who want your material will take them. No stall space to stay in, no booth to watch.

DEMONSTRATIONS: Numerous demonstrations will be held throughout the weekend by vendors, area fiber guilds and MOPACA members. Special areas have been set aside if you just want to sit and spin, or knit and crochet- so bring your wheel, your projects and sit and visit!

MIDWEST FIBER RESOURCE DIRECTORY: We are putting together a Midwest Fiber Resource Directory from MO and the 8 surrounding states with information on shearers and blade sharpening to retail outlets, fiber events, fiber educators, mills and fiber guilds. This is going to be a wonderful tool for any fiber producing animal owner. So if you know of a wonderful resource in your area- let us know ASAP! Each paid registrant will receive one copy of the directory. Additional copies will be available for sale at the event.

DINING: The concession stand will be open for lunch at the Civic Center or you can travel less than one mile to over a dozen fast food chains.

FIBER COLLECTION: AFCNA will be at Fiber U and collecting fiber. Please check their website for packaging instructions and form. This is a great way to save on freight even if you only have some of your fleeces skirted-plan on bringing them with you. The Shepherd’s Mill, Ozark Carding Mill, Flaggy Meadow Fiber Works, Alpaca Blanket Project, and Maya Creek Ecovillage will also be collecting customer’s fiber. Please contact each directly.

VENDORS: All Vendors are to be from MO or the 8 surrounding states and be a resource in the fiber industry. Please contact Liz Mitchko at 417-533-5280 or liz@whirlwindranch.com for vendor application.

OTHER: Spend more money on yarn and fiber and other great items at Fiber U. We understand the economy is trying, so if you're open to car-pooling or looking to share a hotel room, be sure and check the appropriate box on your registration form and we'll be sure and share your contact info with others requesting the same.

The Laclede County Fair will not be taking place next door to the Civic Center this year.

HOW TO REGISTER: Print out the registration form and fill in the required information (one form per person). Choose your top 8 classes and list with #1 being the one you want to take the most. Send in your form with your registration fee made payable to MOPACA. You will be sent an e-mail confirming receipt of your registration and the class(es) you have a reserved space in. If there is a material fee due it will be on an invoice and due by June 1. Only after receipt of the material fee is your space confirmed. Fees not paid by June 1st will be released to the next person on the waiting list.
